The drumstick tree that will leave your diabetes dumbstruck

Moringa, also known as the Drumstick tree, is a fast-growing and drought-resistant tree from the Indian subcontinent with many different uses. It’s typically cultivated for its seed pods but its leaves are also used as vegetables. More importantly, Moringa’s leaves are a powerful superfood for maintaining low blood sugar levels[9].

Aside from having awesome effects on our blood sugar levels, the Moringa leaves are also rich in antioxidants and are highly nutritious. The plant has also been shown to lower cholesterol[10], protect against arsenic toxicity, and even reduce inflammation.

The roots and the plant’s extracts shouldn’t be consumed in excess, however, so always beware and consult with your medical practitioner first. Doses of 6 grams per day for up to 3 weeks are considered safe.
