New skills that require more than one sense – such as chess – seem to work best since they exercise more than one part of your brain. If you’re not in the mood for something new, re-teach yourself an older, forgotten skill.
5. Visualize
Visual memory is usually much stronger than verbal or auditory memory (10).
Take advantage of your visual memory with vivid images, either in real life or in your mind. When making visual associations in your head, the more outlandish the better!
6. Build a Routine
Humans are creatures of habit. It is possible to have good habits or bad habits that impact your day-to-day life and ability to function at 100%.
See if you can identify aspects of your day-to-day life that cause you to stray from routine (such as hitting snooze on your alarm), and make the appropriate adjustments.
