There’s no such thing as a “negative calorie” food, unfortunately, but there are plenty of superfoods that can give your body the nutritional boost it needs to do its own fat busting work. Check out this list of ten superfoods for weight loss.

4. Oily fish
Salmon is packed with omega-3 fatty acids. In addition to being super heart-healthy, omega-3 fatty acids can also help increase sensitivity to insulin. More insulin sensitivity means less belly fat and more muscle – muscle that can also help you burn more calories while resting and exercising.
This tree-looking veggie is also well known for its antioxidant properties but, more importantly, it is full of fiber. Weighing in at just 30 calories per serving, broccoli can make you feel far fuller than you would imagine for such a small number of calories.
It certainly spices up your food, but it can also speed up your metabolism too. Cinnamon has been shown to increase the metabolism of glucose, thereby lowering your blood sugar. With lower blood sugar, your body holds onto less fat – making it easier for you to lose weight and far less likely to put it back on.
7. Goji berries
These are another food that pack a huge antioxidant punch to lower inflammation in the body. With lower levels of inflammation, your body will be better able to metabolize fats. Additionally, goji berries have been used to manage diabetes and may have an impact on insulin sensitivity.
It has shown to help those eating it lose weight in multiple studies. In one, people who ate three 6-ounce servings of yogurt (fat free) per day lost 81% more stomach fat than study participants who ate a reduced-calorie diet without the yogurt.
9. Green tea
It supplies a type of chemical called catechin, which has shown in multiple studies to help the body process fat cells and burn calories. Additionally, “bad” LDL cholesterol also responds to catechins, making green tea heart healthy in other ways. Add to that the antioxidants in green tea, and a few cups of green tea a day may really keep the doctor away.
10. Mixed nuts
These provide countless vitamins and minerals crucial for health, as well as healthy fats like omega-3s. While they should be eaten moderately due to their high fat content, mixed nuts make a perfect snack for anyone who needs a satisfying pick me up.
