To successfully lose weight, you have to make significant lifestyle changes not only in the way you eat and exercise, but also in the way you view yourself. Weight loss is dependent on you making many small shifts in your life! If you’re struggling to lose weight or if you’re just trying to lose those last few pounds, these changes can help you to successfully achieve your desired weight!
1. Work Out Every Single Day
If you’re really serious about losing weight, it’s crucial to get off the couch and get yourself moving. Even if you’re only able to take a walk, do it every day for as long as possible. Experts recommend at least 20-30 minutes of daily activity for normal good health, so push yourself a little longer than that to make sure that you’re burning fat.
Don’t use the excuse that you don’t have time or can’t afford to go to a gym! Walk to a park, or walk around a mall if you don’t like to be outside! You can even complete 3 short 10-minutes bodyweight workouts spread throughout the day. The point is to at least get your heart rate elevated anywhere between 50-60% of your maximum heart rate.
Note: You may or may not experience increased hunger after your walk. The easiest way to suppress this hunger is to chow down on either watery vegetables, such as cucumber or celery, or drink a green smoothie (with all the dietary fiber).
2. Drink Up!
Undoubtedly, your body needs more water. Our culture has a habit of drinking way less water than our bodies want. Often, you may think that you’re hungry when actually your body just needs water. Start carrying a water bottle around with you so that you’re reminded to drink water constantly. Even better, choose a bottle that allows you to measure how much water you drink so you can make sure to get enough water in your system each day!
