Two Natural Aphrodisiacs To Spice Up Your Love Life

by April Klazema

Oysters, chocolate, honey, and even garlic all have one thing in common – they’ve been touted time and again as having a significant aphrodisiac effect that can help you heat things up in the bedroom.

However, for the most part, the effect of these foods aren’t as significant as most of us would like, and serve to get you in the mood mentally more so than they do physically.

But that doesn’t mean you should ignore the idea of aphrodisiacs altogether – it might just be that you need to look elsewhere for foods, or in this case spices, that can give your love life a major boost.

Ginseng and saffron have been the subject of scientific study recently, and the results are pretty spicy to say the least.

According to a published report on the study, ginseng and saffron both have properties that can greatly help to enhance sexual desire. In comparison to other food based aphrodisiacs, both of these products have shown to be very beneficial for those looking for an all-natural way to increase desire.

The study compared several different foods to determine whether they exhibited any aphrodisiac qualities and, if so, how beneficial they were to individuals’ feelings of arousal and desire.

Ginseng and saffron both ranked highly on the list, in addition to other foods, herbs, and spices including some products that are a bit more rare and hard to find, such as maca root and yohimbe, as well as alcohol and chocolate.

Ginseng and Saffron are Notable for a Few Different Reasons

First, in comparison to some of the other things that were proven effective, both of these products are relatively easy to find at your local supermarket or specialty foods store.

And while both alcohol and chocolate are easy enough to access, they probably aren’t the best option when you’re looking to increase your desire. Alcohol, while it can increase desire, can also decrease performance. As for chocolate, its effects are more than likely psychological. So, rely on chocolate to help set the mood, but keep in mind that it may not do much more than that.

While it can be tempting to try a variety of aphrodisiacs, it’s important to remember to play it safe and stick to natural aphrodisiacs as much as possible. Not only that, but it’s important to stick to natural products that have been proven to be safe.

As for medicinal alternatives such as Cialus and Viagra – well, let the laundry list of side effects associated with these medications speak for themselves.

While they can be effective for erectile dysfunction they don’t address the all important aspects of libido, and they can cause problems such as blurred vision, muscle pain, and headache, none of which are conducive to a healthy and happy love life.
