Many people will go to great lengths and spend thousands of dollars on hair replacement therapies and products designed to stimulate hair regrowth. But Mother Nature has some pretty awesome tricks up her sleeve that will help to keep your locks healthy and strong without chemical treatments. And all you need are three ingredients you can buy at your local health food store or pharmacy.
Shampoo For Hair Loss
Step 1 : Shampoo Base
To start, buy a good natural shampoo that has a neutral pH. Usually these types of shampoos will be milder, like baby shampoos. But to get the best results, you should also find a shampoo that is chemical-free, especially one that has no laurel sulphates.
If you don’t know where to start, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) has done extensive studies on beauty and personal care products that reveal which ones have harmful chemicals and which ones you can trust (3).
Step 2: Essential Oils
Once you have a suitable shampoo, add a few drops each of essential oil of lemon and rosemary. Essential oils are highly effective treatments and work on several levels.
For instance, when inhaled, the odor molecules in the oils travel through your nose to your brain where they interact with a variety of receptor sites, one of which is the Limbic system. The :imbic system is often referred to as your “emotional brain,” which is why certain smells can evoke a memory or emotional response (4). Your system also affects things like your heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress levels, and hormones. For this reason, inhaling an essential oil can have both powerful physiological and psychological effects.
Essential oils can also be applied directly to your skin where the active ingredients are absorbed similar to pain patches or hormone creams. By adding essential oils to your shampoo, you reap both the benefits of inhalation and topical application.
Lemon Essential Oil
In general, lemons are known for their ability to detoxify the body, stimulate lymph drainage, rejuvenate energy, purify your skin and act as an anti-microbial. The essential oil as such, also has a number of potent therapeutic properties including its unmatched antiseptic, antifungal, and anti-mould properties (5).
Best of all, lemon oil has a wonderfully fresh and invigorating scent that will leave your hair clarified and beautifully parfumed.
