2. Eating Food Grown With Toxic Chemicals
Conventionally grown food that uses toxic chemical pesticides and herbicides is increasingly being labelled as dangerous to our health and the environment. Here’s a research study to further back up this argument.
This research was carried out at the Salk Institute Research where they have identified a gene (NTE gene) that we all have but in slightly different forms of the NTE enzyme that may link certain pesticides and chemical weaponry to a number of neurological disorders, including the elusive Gulf War syndrome and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)[3].
An adjunct faculty member at Salk, Dr. Barlow said,
“There have been anecdotal links made between rises in ADHD, Parkinson’s disease and other disorders and exposure to pesticides.”
If we all switched to eating organically grown food – then we could ensure we still have a planet that provides us with nourishment decades down the line.
3. Drinking Alcohol
Most of us have seen the effects that alcohol can do either when under the influence ourselves or when watching others. Our ability to walk and see straight becomes impaired, and our reaction time slows down and speech can become slurred.
Well now a study published in Brain and Cognition demonstrates that alcohol can dramatically alter your brain function. The study found that moderate to heavy drinkers can suffer from memory loss and a general reduction in brain function as a side effect of alcohol consumption.
Alcohol really has so many drawbacks to consuming it, and if you want to thrive on all levels – alcohol really should not be included in your diet.
