#8 Jenny Craig
This commercial diet plan, which has been around for decades, has repeatedly nabbed “Best Diet” rankings. The focus on portion control and the personalized counseling that form the basis of the diet are likely causes for followers’ success.
#9 DASH
Short for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension, this diet focuses on portion control and a good distribution of food groups to cut the risk of heart disease. Along with lower blood pressure, followers tend to see weight loss, as well.
#10 TLC
Recommended by the National Institute of Health (NIH) for those who need to lower their cholesterol levels, the Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC) diet places an emphasis on minimizing saturated fat and maximizing intake of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.
#11 Mayo Clinic
The Mayo Clinic diet focuses on making long-term lifestyle changes rather than crash dieting. It includes an emphasis on balanced eating supplemented with frequent exercise.
#12 Flexitarian
Vegetarians tend to weigh less and live longer than their meat-eating counterparts, but many omnivores aren’t willing to give up all their meat-eating habits. Hence, flexitarianism: a more flexible version of vegetarianism that’s often easier to stick to.
