7 Drinks Worse Than a Candy Bar. (You Won’t Believe How Much Added Sugar These Have!)

4. SoBe Energize Green Tea

Green tea is good for you, right? It’s true, but the antioxidants you might find in a bottle of SoBe Energize Green Tea likely aren’t worth the 51 grams of sugar that come along with them.

If you do go for this super-sweet green tea and don’t want to consume the equivalent of two candy bars’ worth of sugar, stick to one 8 ounce serving at a time, which at least contains just under a Hershey’s bar worth of sugar with 21 grams.

5. Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino

It’s not particularly surprising that one of Starbucks’ milkshake-like drinks is full of sugar, but it’s still baffling to see exactly how much sugar a 16 oz (Grande) Caramel Frappuccino contained.

When topped with a dab of whipped cream, this frozen treat comes out to 64 grams of sugar per serving.

6. Coca Cola

A super-sweet blended coffee drink has an understandably high sugar content, but it may surprise you to know that a Frappuccino contains less sugar than a 20 oz bottle of Coca Cola. Perhaps America’s favorite soda, Coca Cola contains 65 grams of sugar per standard single-serve bottle.

7. Mtn Dew

And finally, Mountain Dew, now re-branded as Mtn Dew. Although it’s popularly known as one of the sugariest and most highly caffeinated soft drinks you can buy, you might be surprised to find out that one 20oz bottle of Mtn Dew contains more sugar than three Hershey’s bars. Each single-serve bottle of Mtn Dew contains 77 grams of sugar.
