7. Fake Noodles
Another instance of fake foods comes from Zhongshan in China, where over 5.5 tons of fake sweet potato noodles were made and sold. The issue came to light in 2011 when people started reporting eating odd-tasting noodles.
These sweet potato noodles contained corn and paraffin wax, but that’s not all : Industrial dye and black ink – which can cause organ damage (3) – was used to give the noodles a purple color. via ChinaDaily
